Basin Arts Launches BARE Walls Art Rental Service to Benefit Local Businesses and Artists

Clare Cook, founder of Basin Arts, was a recent guest on Discover Lafayette’s podcast where she discussed BARE Walls, an art subscription rental service turning “BARE” business walls into gallery space, with the goal of bringing together local businesses and artists that live and work here in the our community. You can hear the entire interview here.

BARE Walls provides residual income to local artists every time their artwork is displayed through the art rental program. BARE Walls, operated through Basin Arts, provides an affordable way to create a dynamic workspace while directly supporting the local art community and increasing the overall value of our creative economy. The program recently received start-up funding through the 24-Hour Citizen Project.

Clare and Dirk Guidry, Basin Art’s resident artist, held a business breakfast on February 21, 2019, at the Acadian Superette to discuss the benefits of the Bare Walls program. For as little as $100 or up to $350 per month, a business can commit to a three-month rental of art pieces they select that can fill and beautify an office’s space. Scout Real Estate Co. is an early proponent of the program and is committed to the opportunities the partnerships may afford the local creative economy.
